Donald Sutherland, a Hollywood mainstay for more than six decades, has passed away at the age of 86. The actor, known for his versatile performances in films such as 'MASH', 'Klute', and 'The Hunger Games', died of natural causes at his home in West Vancouver, Canada.

Sutherland's son, Kiefer Sutherland, announced the death on social media, calling his father "a giant of the screen and a legend in his own right." CAA, the talent agency that represented Mr. Sutherland, confirmed the news.

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, Sutherland began his acting career in the 1960s, appearing in Canadian and American television and films. His breakthrough role came with Robert Altman's 'MASH' (1970), where he played Hawkeye Pierce, an irreverent army doctor during the Korean War. The film earned Sutherland an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

Throughout his career, Sutherland continued to showcase his versatility, appearing in a wide range of genres, including comedy, drama, and science fiction. He received critical acclaim for his performances in films such as 'Klute' (1971), 'Ordinary People' (1980), and 'The Hunger Games' (2012).
